Head Athletic Trainer - (San Antonio, TX)

Position summary Athletic Trainer Job Summary: Orthopaedics is growing the Sports Medicine Division and will be working with The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) to provide athletic training services for local sports teams in the training room and on the field. Job assignments: Manages the direct oversight of medical coverage, care and wellness specifically for the UTSA football program and other UTSA athletic sport programs as needed Responsible for supporting the UTSA Director of Sports Medicine and health care team in the oversight and management of providing medical coverage and support for the delivery of an integrated health care system to UTSA student-athletes. Provide daily instruction and specific work assignments related to pre-practice, practice, post-practice and athletic team competition needs to full time and student athletic trainers. Management duties include employee interviewing, selection, training, performance reviews, counseling, discipline and termination.
