CIVIL TRANSPORTATION ROADWAY ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION DEPARTMENT: Engineering EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager JOB DESCRIPTION: The Transportation/Roadway Engineer will be responsible for working directly with the project manager regarding the planning, scheduling, design, conducting, and coordinating of transportation engineering work. POSITION DUTIES: • Performs various aspects of roadway projects including geometric design, right-of-way plans, storm drainage design, utilities, signing and marking, and erosion control design. • Prepares engineering reports, plans and specifications for projects. • Designs and produces engineering drawings based on calculations. • Checks, interprets, and revises engineering drawings. • Prepares and reviews plans and technical specifications, contract documents and estimates. • Coordinate projects and tasks as assigned by project manager and staff. • Communicate and interact with project teammates and others as appropriate to project.
