Job overview Purchases production materials, components, equipment, tooling, MRO items, and services utilizing new and/or existing suppliers in support of the company's operations, and manages quality, cost, and on-time delivery of goods and services of assigned supply base. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1. Negotiates supply contracts that meet or exceed supply, material quality, and commercial goals and objectives as set by the company Prepares and issues RFQ's to suppliers for new and existing materials and services Drafts sourcing recommendations for award summarizing the bid history and justifying the selection of awarded bidder Studies market trends, interviews vendors, and recommends new sources of supply Works with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) for source selection Assists in issue solving and establishing continuous improvement targets with supply base Gathers and prepares details for ECM presentations Supports new program launch activities
