Position details Search Light Center for Healing Behavior Specialist Job summary General Details The Youth Counselor provides care and close supervision of residents placed in the facility. Persons employed as Youth Counselors are responsible for the primary care, custody, control and supervision of activities of the residents being served. The position involves working specific shifts, and such positions are under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager. Duties Include: Provide general supervision of residents in accordance with the policies of the facility. Maintain basic disciplinary and behavioral control of the residents, observing them closely and regularly to detect any potentially problematic behavior. Stimulate the residents’ interest in various activities and programs provided by the facility; supervise their participation in those activities. Attempt to ease the adjustment of each resident to placement at the facility by means of personal contact and counseling techniques.
