Laboratory Specialist Senior - (Charlottesville, VA)

The Department of Cell Biology, at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, is currently seeking a Lab Specialist Senior. The successful applicant will play an integral role in setting-up the new Laboratory of Dr. Karen Hirschi. This position would start on or about January 1, 2019, under the supervision of Dr. Douglas DeSimone, and, on or about April 1, 2019, when the lab is in full operation, will fall under the supervision of Dr. Hirschi. The Hirschi Lab will study vascular and hematopoietic development using the mouse embryo model system, and translate mechanisms of morphogenesis to the production of human vascular and blood cells from human pluripotent stem cells for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine projects. The Lab Specialist Senior, initially, will have duties and responsibilities involving lab set-up.
