Coordinator of Media Relations - (Charlottesville, VA)

The UVA Center for Politics seeks a Coordinator of Media Relations. This role serves as the main point of contact at the UVA Center for Politics in managing a wide-variety of communications related to politics in Virginia; coordinates, with the Center Director and Managing Editor of the Crystal Ball the weekly publication; coordinates with Center staff the development and execution of press releases as they relate to Center events and activities; proactively manages media relations as they relate to local and state political inquiries and maintains an established network of external communications relationships with both local and state media outlets. Performs political analysis and interpretation, and authors or contributes to published info for the expert and the generalist audience. A bachelor's degree in American Politics, Government, Communications, Public Relations, or a related position, is required.
