Step Coordinator - (Davis, CA)
Under supervision, working in outdoor animal areas to provide basic animal care and husbandry duties to primate colonies with responsibilities ranging from but not limited to feeding non-human primates according to prescribed diets; cleaning, hosing, raking, shoveling, recording health observations, implementing and supporting enrichment protocols related to the care and welfare of non-human primates; and providing technical assistance as needed. Checking watering devices. Physical requirements: Restrain animals for extended periods of time. Handle, move, and transport a variety of animals weighing up to 40 lbs. Lift and move a 25 lb sack of chow. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds containers of enrichment (produce). Move up to 70lbs. of soil in a wheelbarrow (outdoor colonies). Repeated lifting of cages that weigh 55-130 pounds. Lift and move loaded animal transfer cages weighing 35lbs. to cage elevations seven feet high. Push and or pull racks weighing up to 600 pounds.
