Elementary School Teacher (PART-TIME) - (Ossining, NY)

Part time The School for Young Performers is looking to hire a PART TIME K-2 teacher for a student in Westchester County for the spring term. The educator will work part time in an innovative and fluid classroom construct. Although part time, the teacher will have 8-12 hrs/week as a p/t W-2 employee of our program, with the potential of continuing on for the 2019-2020 school year. Ideal applicants must have the following: - Available between 9 am - 12 pm (4 or five days/week) - A MIN of five years experience teaching lower elementary school -Familiarity with Reading/Writing Workshop Series (Lucy Calkins' Units of Study) is strongly preferred -Orton Gillingham training/literacyspecialist experience a HUGE plus -Strength in project-based learning/experiential learning -Conscientious, patient, compassionate, flexible and professional -Strong handle on keeping pace with curriculum, comfortable with creating lesson plans, assessments, projects and tests
