Job summary Only candidates who meet the Min Qualification Qualifications and meet all selective qualifications will be placed on the eligible list. The Iowa Department of Commerce Utilities Board is looking to fill a Utility Attorney two to assist the state. This Utility Attorney two will provide advice and counsel to the three-member Iowa Utilities Board and to the Board's staff as a member of the Regulatory Law section, which is organized pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 474. The duties of this position include review of legal and factual issues in some of the most complex Board proceedings; preparation of legal memoranda; and writing proposed decisions and orders for the Board that are well reasoned and defensible. The position also defends those decisions in judicial review proceedings and other proceedings in state and federal court, including briefing and oral argument.
