Conversation Partners - (Jeffersonville, IN)

Conversation Partners is a program coordinated by the Backside Learning Center (BLC) that pairs non-native English speaking students from the BLC with native English speakers for one-on-one, informal conversation in both Spanish and English. The program promotes and encourages cultural awareness and language skill development while helping BLC students understand and adapt to U.S culture and providing both participants the opportunity to create a rewarding new friendship. Participants will meet for an hour of informal conversation that will be divided between 45 minutes of Spanish and 45 minutes of English. SCHEDULE: Every Thursday night from 5:30-7 PM at the Backside Learning Center (located in the stable area of Churchill Downs). COMMITMENT TIME: We ask that interested volunteers commit to participating every Thursday for a complete six week cycle. QUALIFICATIONS: Volunteer Orientation
