F.O.I.A. Coordinator/Paralegal - (Hampton, VA)

Function The Freedom of Info Act (FOIA) Coordinator/Paralegal manages and processes all FOIA requests, subpoenas duces tecum, medical records requests and Motions for Discovery received by the City of Hampton and works in conjunction with appropriate City departments and employees to ensure a timely response to all such requests, from initial evaluation to final document release or denial. Accounts payable support is also provided by this position. The incumbent may also support professional legal staff in the City Attorney's Office on special litigation projects as required. Examples of Duties Processes, routes and tracks all FOIA and other public records requests received by the City, and contacts requesters as needed. Drafts various correspondences, performs data entry and handles general administrative functions in the process of receiving and responding to FOIA and other public records requests.
