Geotechnical Materials Technician - (Gainesville, FL)

Position description Geotechnical Materials Technician This is an entry level position involving technician work in a highway materials testing facility. General activities include some or all of the following: logging and preparing samples for testing; performing basic testing procedures under general supervision; performing basic data entry of test data into the appropriate reporting software program or database; and extracting data and preparing basic test reports. This position will be working in the Geotech Section. Specific duties include: Performing soil sample preparation and testing for design and verification work. Performing calculations, data entry and review for raw data. Performing calibration, verification, and maintenance for machinery and testing equipment in the laboratory. Performing laboratory testing for research utilizing AASHTO, ASTM, and FM test methods.
