Developmental and Production Editor - (Philadelphia, PA)

Position summary GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB Independently and under minimal supervision the incumbent will ensure the production and editorial quality of all company products (books and digital) and marketing materials (web sites, print, ephemera, and digital). This role has 2 key responsibilities, developmental editor and production editor as defined below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Assignments include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Developmental Editor Works closely with authors, Publisher, and Acquisitions Editor to guide and assist authors in the writing and creation of books and digital materials to ensure that the manuscript and graphic materials are coherent, complete, and ready for Editing, Design, and Production (EDP). Work in conjunction with Acquisition and authors to develop the topic and design the scope and project plan for the initiative. Work with, assist, and to guide authors through the writing process to ensure the final manuscript is suitable for the audience and ready for EDP.
