Driver Orientation Instructor - (Birmingham, AL)

Position details The Driver Orientation Instructor coaches, educates, tests, and oversees the entire orientation process for potential driver hires. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Coach and mentor students and new hire drivers through the phases of orientation 2. Explain and collect new hire paperwork from the new drivers 3. Coordinate and adjust the orientation class schedule to ensure all material is properly covered, involving interaction with all facets of the company. 4. Perform road tests and integrity interviews 5. Train new hires in safety procedures and correct tarp and load securement techniques 6. Purchase fuel and supplies including driver lunches and DOT compliance details. Maintain an accurate budget and expense report. 7. Other duties as assigned Education and/or Experience: Must be very familiar with the OTR trucking industry with at least 1 yr experience as an OTR driver. It is required to maintain a Class A valid drivers license.
