Postdoctoral Associate (Ophthalmic Imaging) - (Miami, FL)

About This Position The Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will design and perform experiments focused on effect of deamination on neurodegeneration, which will entail investigation of the role of deamination interactors and modulators including lipids. The proficiency in use of mass spectrometry, cell cultures, generation of primary neuronal cells, and use of animal models is expected. The goal would be to generate 1 high impact manuscript and a moderate impact manuscript per year on targeted projects in discussion with the Principal Investigator. The Postdoctoral Associate is required to submit an NIH F32 and a K99 application based on preliminary work within nine months from date of hire. The performance evaluation will be based on these goals.
