Environmental Specialist - (Elmwood Park, NJ)

Job summary The Environmental Specialist position supports Soundview’s overall Environmental program. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to Soundview Paper’s operations. This person will need to quickly become familiar with the process flow at the facility and suggest opportunities for consuming less water, and reducing wastes associated with the pulp and paper process. ACCOUNTABILITIES Create and ensure programs and disciplines are in place to meet all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements. Manage and report out on monthly and quarterly reports internally and to external sources. Conducting fieldwork and inspections as needed, as well as daily lab testing on a variety of water and soil samples Submitting routine reports to regulatory agencies is required. The position mandates presentation skills for all levels; verbal, written and formal presentation when needed.
