Laboratory Assistant - (Titusville, FL)

General Description Under the direct supervision of the Core Lab Section Chief, assist the technical staff by performing a variety of support functions involving manual pre-testing duties, instrument maintenance, and clerical functions. Required responsibilities - Prepare specimens for referral to reference. Monitor outstanding tests. - Utilize the computer system to edit Laboratory requests/requisitions, to add or delete tests, and to receive specimens as needed. - Log daily temperatures. Perform assigned instrument maintenance and Quality Control. - Stopper, cap and put away specimens following testing. - Reconstitute controls and reagents. - Vocational or other technical school, training or apprenticeship required beyond high-school. - Min of 1 (1) year background in Phlebotomy or Specimen Procurement.
