Position description The function of the Assemble is to perform a variety of tasks proficiently and efficiently. Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Layout and construct various product assemblies with min supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using a variety of portable or hand tools. Break down assembly drawings and specifications, and plan the successive steps of fabricating and assembling mechanical parts and units. Assembles parts according to print, including fitting, aligning and adjusting. Insure mechanism are free from binding or interference and functions properly. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerance and product specifications. Uses knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures. Duties: Close tolerance hand work and expertise to diagnose improper mechanical assembly or operation and take the necessary steps to correct the problem including blueprint schematic reading.
