Description : We currently have a full-time Lactation Consultant/Educator position open on our Obstetrics Unit. The Registered Nurse coordinates patient care and educational activities related to lactation. This role encompasses consultation with inpatient and outpatientclients and health professionals in the hospital and community at large. Manages, organizes, facilitates, and coordinates the educational activities of Augusta Health. Plans, designs, implements, and evaluates educational programs to meet the assessed (orotherwise determined) learning needs of Augusta Health. The RN will collaborate together with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. We are an eighteen bed Birthing Suite where our nurses are cross trained to labor and delivery, mother/baby couplet care, and Level II nursery. Our unit functions under total patient care model, so each nurse develops and delivers individualized care to their patientsin collaboration with the physicians and midwives.
