Job overview Role Purpose: The Security Guard is responsible for providing security service for the Health center including crisis intervention, investigations, and parking regulations. Responsibilities: Identifies safety hazards and refers to Safety Manager for solution. Escorts patients, visitors and employees promptly and courteously. Checks buildings and work areas when not open for business. Investigates thoroughly any violations of State, City law and hospital policy. Documents incidents/ activities according to Health Center and departmental policy; ensures documentation is clearly written and detailed as to circumstances of incidents/activities. Performs drug screening for occupational medicine. Responds immediately to all STAT calls and codes. Takes control of situations and implements appropriate procedures in such a manner that injuries are avoided and property damage is prevented. Notifies the telecommunications staff or other officer(s) immediately when confronted with a crisis situation.
