Position overview Job Description Job title: Special Education Teacher Job type: Salaried ($40,350 with $5,000 annual retention stipend) / Exempt Position Hours: Full time; Monday – Friday; 40 Hours per Week Reports to: Campus Principal Length of Term/Employment: 190 workdays / At-will Position Mission: Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student expertise levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned. Position Min Requirements: Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Special Education and the required content area. Special Knowledge/Skills: Must possess knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area.
