Buyer - (Lincoln, RI)

Job overview The Buyer purchases parts, equipment and materials by identifying specific needs and appropriate suppliers. The Buyer then schedules and expedites delivery of material to insure adequate in house stock to fill customer orders. Responsibilities: Purchase goods in a timely manner for customer contracts and ensures specific qualifications are included on the purchase order. Negotiates the best price and delivery. Reviews/resolves specific questions about sales orders with the Sales Department before PO's are placed Expedite orders and communicate with Sales about PO delivery status. Maintain purchasing records on the corporate business system. Maintain and stores documents relating to purchasing. Update purchasing records and reports all cost changes to Customer Service. Notify vendors of any hardware or software discrepancies and work to resolve/reconcile differences with vendors and customers.
