Sports Assistant (Part time) The Free Lance-Star is currently seeking a part time Sports Assistant. This is an entry-level position. The assistant takes sports results over the telephone, writes short game summaries, compiles the nightly agate report, writes briefs and short stories for Communities and contributes to the production of our digital products. Sports knowledge, outstanding communication and technical skills and the expertise to multi-task are required. Previous writing background wanted. Must be detail-oriented and organized. Must be able to perform under deadline pressure while maintaining our standards for accuracy and fairness. Must be available to work nights and weekends; late night hours are required.
