Sr Chemist - (Chester, VA)

Position overview: The Sr. Chemist works in a 24/7 unionized, in-process, finished product, and environmental testing laboratory for the manufacturing plant(s). Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise laboratory technician performing analytical testing and ensuring their compliance with all safety procedures Validate laboratory technician results and provide troubleshooting maintenance support for all laboratory instrumentation Provide analytical and technical support for both internal and external customers Ensure compliance with ISO-9001:2015 quality management system and environmental certification Develop, validate, and implement new or improved analysis methods Manage lab equipment asset risks and develop maintenance and upgrade plans Continuous improvement and laboratory operating cost management Implement the organization's operating system and structured safety program Basic requirements: Bachelor's degree in chemistry; Master's degree in chemistry preferred 6 Sigma Greenbelt certification preferred;
