Chemical Engineer - (Ames, IA)

POSITION PURPOSE: This position is responsible for a variety of engineering duties including design of new plants and plant upgrades, and continuous improvement of existing facilities in safety, cost, quality, and capacity. This position will be a technical expert in the process chemistry and production processes at REG facilities, and have ability in process modeling and emergency pressure relief. Management of small to medium size capital projects may also be required.? CRITICAL FUNCTIONS:? Key Accountabilities: ?? Identify ways to optimize plant processes and implement changes to enhance plant safety and profitability Assist plants with debottlenecking, troubleshooting and investigating quality excursions Utilize Aspen process modeling to improve current operations and design new equipment Development and maintenance of process safety details including P&IDs, material and energy balances, and pressure relief design Support efforts of project start-up crews and support teams as needed
