Drafter - Research & Development - (Liverpool, NY)

SUMMARY: Under close supervision of a designer or more experienced drafter, performs individual, routine tasks to learn engineering and drafting practices. All decisions are made by a more experienced drafter/designer. This is an entry level position. The primary focus of an employee at this level is to learn drafting and engineering procedures under the direct supervision of a more experienced drafter/designer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Assignments include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Prepares drawings, sketches and layouts using basic drafting techniques Revises or changes drawings as directed. Performs routine dimensional calculations. Lays out and draws simple drawings, charts, graphs or diagrams based upon details provided by a more experienced drafter or designer. Maintains drawing files, assists in the assembly of engineering packages, and makes copies of drawings. Creates or revises microsoft word processing, spreadsheet or database files as directed.
