Technical Writer - (Winchester, VA)

PURPOSE: The Technical Writer develops On-line Help, tutorials, and other reference materials for Manufacturing and Supply Chain software systems. The successful applicant also assists with training and the SharePoint site. KEY FUNCTIONS: Develop and communicate project plans and schedules for assigned work. Based on established standards and templates, develop and maintain On-line Help systems and other documentation to serve client needs. Develop and deliver training. Assist with maintaining the SharePoint site, including adding new pages and other advanced tasks. Assess the effectiveness of user content and training and recommend corrective actions when necessary. Mentor and train other Technical Writers. Perform peer documentation reviews. Establish relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), including end users, software developers, and others. Participate on cross-functional teams as a member or resource, document team activity, and communicate documentation needs.
