Title :Police Officer (Certified) Department :Safety Services Job classification :Staff Regular/Temporary :Regular Salary: $16.62/hour Open Date :07/09/2018 Description : MAJOR DUTIES: Patrols the campus and its jurisdictional boundaries by vehicle, golf cart, or on foot to preserve law and order, prevent, discover, and enforce violations of laws and ordinances and/or college policies. Protects property by providing security checks of campus buildings and vehicles parked on college property. Takes measures to prevent loss or damage to property including securing the interior and exterior of campus buildings. Responds to calls for protection of life and property, the enforcement of laws and ordinances, calls for service, and complaints. Assists to the campus community and visitors. Exercises independent judgment in determining when there is reasonable suspicion to detain, when probable cause exists to search and arrest and when force may be used and to what degree.
