Legal Administrative Assistant - (Newport News, VA)
Performs secretarial and administrative/clerical duties in support of attorneys in legal department of shipbuilding division. Possesses good knowledge of and ability in technical functions supporting legal office work, specifically the operation of word and data processing systems (Word, Ms excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint); prepares correspondence for internal clients and outside parties, screens incoming correspondence; screens incoming phone calls and places outgoing calls for attorneys; works with attorneys and paralegals to prepare memoranda and similar documents. Has a current understanding of policies and procedures with regard to Law Department operations including databases, timekeeping and matter management. Coordinates attorney travel and processes expense reports.
