Purchasing Manager - (Lincolnton, NC)

Summary: Provide strategic direction, leadership and daily management to a buying team, establish goals and maintain communication to insure meeting established performance objectives, develop strategies and lead project plans focused on reducing material costs, reducing freight costs, improving supplier quality, reducing lead-times and increasing inventory turns. Works cross-functionally with all areas of the company to ensure effective coordination of sourcing activities with sales, marketing, quality, manufacturing and new product development. Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, organizes, directs and controls activities related to the procurement function Evaluates vendor quotations and utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery and service Designs, implements, manages and monitors procurement metrics
