Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Requirements and Background Requirements: Ideally applicants who are qualified will have a Certified Welding Inspector, CWI and Nondestructive Testing, NDT Level II construction testing background preferable working for a geotechnical engineering or materials testing company. Must have American Welding Society CWI Certification Must have NDT Level II Must have AWS D1.1 Structural welding (steel) code background
