Energy Conversion Postdoctoral Scholar (Chemical Sciences) - (Vallejo, CA)

Job overview: Berkeley Lab's Chemical Sciences Division has an opening for a Energy Conversion Postdoctoral Scholar. You will be apart of a Department of Energy (DOE) funded project on multiscale, reaction-diffusion modeling of solar-driven transformations in nanostructured condensed phases systems. These systems offer the potential for efficient and inexpensive conversion of sunlight to electricity and chemical energy. Of particular interest are natural or bio-inspired molecular systems such as dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC), and dye-sensitized photoelectrosynthesis cells (DSPEC). Their operation involves multiphase couplings of excitation, charge flow and chemical reactions, which govern their solar energy conversion efficiency. This project seeks to develop models that describe the complete microscopic connection between these processes and measured photocurrents and product generation rates.
