Assistant Editor, Collections - (New Haven, CT)

Reporting to the Director of Publications and Editorial Services, the Assistant Editor manages the development and execution of a variety of editorial projects, including exhibition/collection catalogues, monographs, the annual Bulletin, interpretive brochures, labels, and other printed materials as assigned by the Director of Publications and Editorial Services. Collaborates with internal clients to plan and develop manuscripts; estimates specifications and obtains production estimates; develops budgets; creates and maintains schedules; content edits, copyedits, fact checks, proofreads, and collates copy; hires freelancers and manages their work; assists in setting print runs and retail prices; reviews and traffics contracts for honoraria; manages art; coordinates with designer on color corrections and review of proofs; and coordinates shipping and delivery with printers and museum bookstore.
