Assistant Professor in Virology - (Blacksburg, VA)
As part of a new university-wide emphasis on Global Systems Science, Virginia Tech is hiring a cluster of at least 6 faculty members in the area of infectious disease. In connection with this initiative, the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute (VTCRI) (http://research.vtc.vt.edu) seeks to recruit a tenure-track faculty member in virology at the rank of Assistant Professor (qualified senior candidates will also be considered). Candidates should have an earned doctorate and a demonstrated track record of research productivity. Those whose programs employ molecular, biochemical, and genetic approaches to investigate mechanisms of viral replication and/or virus-host interactions are particularly encouraged to apply. The new faculty member will join a highly collaborative and successful group of investigators at the VTCRI and will be required to establish and maintain a high quality, extramurally-funded research program and participate in teaching/mentoring undergraduate, graduate, and medical students.
