Mechanic - (Beaumont, TX)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assist with preventative maintenance, repairs to large and small trucks, pumps, and record keeping associated with the repairs and maintenance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Work with maintenance foreman in completing repairs on VES-IS equipment. 2. Own and maintain in terrific condition an "industry standard" collection of tools. 3. Participate in maintenance program by not only performing repairs, but also by analyzing the root causes of the equipment damage. 4. Diagnose mechanical problems to minimize the need for extensive replacement of parts. 5. Utilize preventative maintenance techniques to eliminate on the job problems. 6. Use road calls not only to solve on the job problems, but communicate these problems so that similar episodes may be minimized. 7. Keep a clean organized work area. 8. Participate actively in safety and accident prevention programs. 9. Continually upgrade technical knowledge, and act as an info source for service crews.
