Patient Account Representative (1.0 FTE) - (Duluth, MN)

Building Location: Business Service Center Department: 46100 Patient Accounts Position details: Resolves a high volume of accounts before and after services are provided at hospitals and clinics throughout Essentia Health in a timely manner. Is the primary contact and is responsible for responding to patient, clinical and other professional inquiries. They must provide accurate processing and billing support in addressing insurance, coding, registration and other billing questions in order to resolve patient financial responsibilities. This could occur in the office, at bedside, over the telephone or by using automated phone technology. Performs account analysis to evaluate, develop and implement an action plan to educate guarantors of their financial responsibilities. This includes collection of patient balances, payment negotiation along with directing patients to programs to assist with their medical bills.
