The technician will be required to conduct bench work using various laboratory techniques. They will also conduct animal experiments, and some maintenance of a breeding colony. The technician will work with a small team including the PI and several undergraduate students. Responsibilities PCR, RT-PCR Gel electrophoresis and western blotting ELISA and spectrophotometric assays DNA and RNA isolation Immunohistochemistry Breeding, genotyping and dissecting mice Maintain an inventory of mice and banked tissues. Train undergraduate students in basic laboratory protocols Minimum requirements BA/BS in biology, or a related position with 2 yrs of laboratory research background (which may be at the undergraduate level) is required.
