Fiber Splicer - (Waterloo, IA)

The Fiber Splicer will splice fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing schematics and diagrams. Duties and Responsibilities: * Splice fiber optic cables in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing schematics and diagrams Essential Education and Requirements: * Background in splicing and prepping of fiber optic pedestals and enclosures * Knowledge in OTDR, power meter and PON testing * Background in splicing and repairs of new and existing plant, buried and aerial cables using all types of construction methods * Must have background in mounting building entrance terminals and terminating within them * Must have knowledge to perform cutovers, cable throws and working with live circuits Physical requirements: * Must be comfortable in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces * Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, etc. Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
