OPS-Research Outreach Staff - (Gainesville, FL)

Classification Title: OPS-Research Outreach Staff Job overview: The Infectious Disease Dynamics group in Department of Biology at the University of Florida seeks 2 research outreach staff members to assist with a study of respiratory virus transmission in an elder care and retirement community. This is a full time, fixed term position for 6 mnths (January 2018 to May, 2018). The selected candidates will join the Surveillance of Influenza in Retirement Communities (SIRC) study, which seeks to better understand the transmission of pathogens like influenza in retirement communities. A cohort of residents and staff member at Oak Hammock retirement community will be recruited and followed for symptoms of influenza and other respiratory illness. Nasal swabs will be regularly collected from participants, and participants will complete surveys about their contact patterns prior to illness events.
