Laboratory AssistantAllentown PAContract-to-PermanentShift: 10+ hour days, overtime requiredPay rate: $13.00 to start Purpose of Job:The incumbent is responsible for providing basic assistance to the microbiology and chemistry operations of the laboratory. Job Duties Maintain clean laboratory by washing countertops, sweeping floor, and storing analysis materials. Sterilize containers before washing to avoid contamination. Wash containers used in analysis and return to the laboratory for the next test. Prepare sample for analysis as instructed. Autoclave materials to sterilize for the next use. Discard waste and sterilize work area after each process. Record temperatures of incubators to create needed environment for sample. Assist other laboratory personnel performing testing procedures as instructed by the supervisor. Maintain equipment in working order to perform necessary preventative maintenance. May be required to occasionally pick up sample from the client and deliver to the laboratory.
