Diesel Mechanic - Class A or B JOB DETAILS A journeyman automotive mechanic is 1 who has served an apprenticeship of 4 (4) years in the automotive mechanics" trade or a person who has worked 4 (4) years at the automotive mechanics" trade in any of Its branches or subdivisions and who can, with the aid of tools, repair, erect, assemble, dismantle and maintain automotive equipment of parts thereof. Required functions Statement (s) Preventive Maintenance and DOT Inspection procedures and guidelines. Electrical systems including, starting, charging, lighting, and basic truck electrical systems. Diagnosis and repair of truck, engine, and other truck component electronics systems. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Diagnosis and repair of various configurations of lift gate systems.
