Legal Counsel - (Rock Island, IL)

Our client is searching for applicants for a Counsel role with background in the Life Insurance Industry. This role provides legal advice and services regarding vendor contracts, agent conduct and contracting, legislation, compliance, and other matters as assigned by the General Counsel.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Tracks and analyses relevant legislation, rules, and case law.· Provides legal assistance in the handling of compliance matters to ensure the Society is in compliance with all regulatory qualifications, statutes, rules, and regulations.· Works with management in drafting, reviewing, advising and assisting in negotiations for vendor contracts and provides advice regarding contract disputes and administrative matters and advises and assists in the handling of contract dispute resolution and/or litigation, as assigned.· Performs other duties and administers other legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel.· Expertise to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
