Probation Officer Senior (D2225) - Readvertisement - (Danville, VA)

This is a readvertisement. Previous candidates do NOT need to apply as they will automatically be considered. Incumbent will provide direct care and parole supervision to Court referred youth at high or moderate risk of re-offending due to violent/aggressive acts and/or gang activity. This position will also be assigned probationers at high or moderate risk of incarceration in a detention facility or juvenile correctional facility. Duties include: completing YASI risk assessments in the development of probation supervision plans and comprehensive re-entry plans, completing Mental Health Transition Plans/Reviews, making referrals to community and other resources, providing crisis intervention and counseling, inputting data into the BADGE system, documenting case activity, attending court hearings and presenting testimony. Facilitates and leads groups using evidence-based approaches, performs supervisory/administrative duties and other special assignments as designated. Assists other staff with difficult cases.
