Librarian II - Adult Services - (San Antonio, TX)

Position overview Under general direction, performs a broad spectrum of professional library work autonomously and in accordance with general policies and accepted professional practices. The advanced difficulty of work assignments and the greater independence with which work is performed differentiates this class from the Librarian I class. Work conditions are primarily in an office environment. May directly supervise assigned staff. Work Location: Potranco Branch or 1 of 26 other branch libraries Essential Job Functions Interprets Federal and State library laws and explains City and departmental policies and procedures to the public and staff. Develops, plans, and implements public programming. Investigates and resolves complaints involving the public and staff. Assumes the responsibilities of a Branch Manager in his or her absence. May serve as Assistant Branch Manager. Provides direct reference service to the public. Participates in library committee work and library-wide committees and task forces.
