The Director of Purchasing directs and controls all purchasing activities to secure specified product at the lowest possible price.Direct activities of purchasing personnelAdministration of bidding process and evaluation of bids submittedNegotiate with vendors on initial contracts or on contract disputesDevelop and implement efficient operating methods, guidelines, systems and controlsReview and approve all requisitions for procurement of materials and servicesAssure purchasing activities are properly interfaced and coordinated with other departments as necessaryAssure that vendors have complied fully with contracts/purchase orders prior to final paymentAssure regulatory compliance with state mandatesPerform other duties as assigned
