Underwriter - (Columbia, SC)

The Municipal Association of South Carolina is accepting applications for the position of underwriter. This position provides technical support to the underwriting of the workers' compensation and property and liability insurance programs offered through the Municipal Association. Position duties: -Assists with underwriting SC Municipal Insurance and Risk Financing Fund and SC Municipal Insurance Trust programs to ensure adequate funding; evaluates member exposures; establishes rating and premium development on an annual basis; assists with ongoing review of SCMIRF coverage documents to ensure consistency and accuracy; and works with members to determine coverage needs -Assists with reinsurance renewals and preparation of details for reinsurers -Facilitates worker's compensation payroll audits; ancillary policy placement for members and the annual membership renewal process; and assists with new member orientation as requested
