Content Editor - (Albany, NY)

The Times Union Editorial Department has an immediate opening for a part time, Content Editor. We’re looking for a diligent reader with daily newspaper desk background or similar work background. Strong copy editing skills and the expertise to work and edit in multiple platforms and systems are required. The best applicants also will have a working expertise of current events, geography, spelling and grammar. Background in page assembly and in sports copy editing is a plus. Basic duties include editing local and wire copy for both on-line and print publication, writing headlines and captions, and proofing pages. Hours will likely include evenings and at least 1 weekend shift and are subject to change. Salary: $830.34 per week. The Times Union is a division of Hearst and is the largest media company in New York's Capital Region.
