Responsibilities: - Initiate authorization requests for outpatient and inpatient services in accordance with the prior authorization list. Route to appropriate staff when needed. - 2+ years of customer service background, preferably in a healthcare or insurance environment. - May coordinate member transportation and make referrals to other departments as appropriate - Medical customer service background required. - Provide assistance to members and/or providers regarding web siteregistration and navigation - Assist in monitoring utilization of medical services to assure cost effective use of medical resources through processing prior authorizations. - Knowledge of medical terminology a preferred.
