Senior Scientist, Lateral Flow Assay Development - (San Marcos, TX)

The Senior Scientist is responsible for the applied research and development of lateral flow immunoassays. This position necessitates an in-depth knowledge of lateral flow assays including design, development, and manufacturing. The applicant should be an expert in things such as antibody dispensing, membrane blocking and drying, and conjugate pad pretreatment protocols; buffer composition; material selection; membrane flow dynamics including the flow of whole pathogens; and general assay optimization. The applicant must also have a strong understanding of immunoassays and specific considerations related to running an immunoassay in an LFA format. This job necessitates some knowledge of bacteria and/or complex biological samples. The applicant should have either a MS degree with five to ten years of direct background or a PhD in biology or biochemistry with at least 3 yrs of background.
