The District has a civilian workforce of over 900 engineers, scientists, technicians, trades/crafts, and administrative support positions which help manage local water resources for navigation, flood risk management, fish and wildlife, and hydroelectric power generation. Other major missions include ecosystem restoration and disaster assistance.
